We also call for consideration of the colonial legacies embedded in the technologies we use – the inaccessibility of certain technologies to some poor, marginalized and indigenous communities – and how many of our carbon-emitting technologies disproportionately impact poor, marginalized and indigenous communities. We invite everyone to take time to reflect on our place in reconciliation, decolonization and cooperation.

The Common Core Standards define instruction in English language arts (ELA), as well as history/social studies, science, and engineering. Because students must learn to read, write, speak, listen, and use language effectively in a variety of content areas, they will develop the literacy skills and understanding necessary for college preparation and careers in many fields.

The Common Core requires students to read complex texts that provide knowledge and instruction in areas such as stories and literature, as well as science and social studies. Students will be challenged and asked questions to reflect on what they have read. It emphasizes the critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills necessary for success in college, work, and life.

It will build a solid foundation for each level in the following 4 areas: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension and Writing.

To ensure your successful transition to on-campus housing, the Move-in process includes several steps: health and wellness checks, side notes/notes, completing the Housing Conditions form, and move-in ceremonies. For traffic management purposes, please keep to your scheduled time.

Stop 1 – CSUEB Housing Move-In, Driving Process. Upon arrival at the relocation site, you will first go to the location to complete a health and wellness check to determine if a COVID test is required before proceeding with the relocation process. Health and wellness screenings have quick questions about exposure to COVID and/or symptoms related to COVID. A COVID-pop-up testing facility will be available to support any home testing.

Stop 2 – Continue where you can enter your name and network number on the dialer. Home inspection items, any replacement keys and instructions will be delivered to your vehicle. Remember that all residents must go through this stop, even if you are a returning resident who may have a previously issued BayCard. If you are not coming with your own car, you will have a place of your choice to complete the transfer.
