The ACC will eliminate the division for the 2023 football season and replace it with an eight-game schedule with three opponents for each team.

The other five conference opponents rotate from 2023-26, allowing each ACC team to play once at home and once on the road in a four-year period. It serves a primary purpose in the ACC and other leagues (including the SEC): updating schedules that are in some cases outdated.
ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips called it a "significant" improvement. FSU hasn't played at Pitt since Jameis Winston's debut in 2013, and Boston College hasn't visited Miami in 11 years.

Instead of an ACC Championship Game with the winner of each division, the two teams with the most wins in the conference will compete for the championship at Charlotte State. BATON ROUGE – LSU and Florida State have scheduled a two-game football series beginning in the 2022 season at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. ESPN announced Tuesday in conjunction with Events.
The 2022 season opener is Sunday, Sept. 4, the first of two games between the teams. LSU and Florida State will open the 2023 season on Labor Day weekend, with the Tigers and Seminoles meeting on Sunday, Sept. 3 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
"Our team looks forward to playing Florida State to open the 2022 and 2023 seasons," the LSU coach said.

LDU is 2-7 all-time against Florida, and 2022 was the first meeting between the teams since 1991, with the Seminoles winning 27-16 at Tiger Stadium.
"LDU and Florida State are two of the most iconic brands in college football, and we look forward to renewing the franchise," said Peter Derzus, ESPN's senior vice president of college sports programming and ESPN events. "When we schedule neutral site games, our goal is always to provide the fans and spectators with a great game, and we feel like we've accomplished that with these anticipated events."

The LSU-Florida State series began in 1968, when the Tigers beat the Seminoles 31-27 in Atlanta.

The two-game series with Florida State continues LSU's decade-long streak of playing high-profile non-conference games. LSU will host Texas at Tiger Stadium this year after traveling to the Longhorns in 2019.
LSU also has home-and-home games scheduled against UCLA (2021 and 2024), Clemson (2025 and 2026), Oklahoma (2027 and 2028) and Arizona State (2029 and 2030). 2024 Atlanta's Woodruff Academy four-star safety C.J. Hurd has announced a campus visit for the Seminole FSU exhibition.

Hurd, a 6-foot, 200-pound prospect, is ranked No. 127 overall and the No. 11 safety in the class of 2024. 247Sports lists him as the No. 33 safety and three-star prospect.
He committed to the Seminoles despite not being on the list of top seven schools that came out recently. The list includes UF, Arkansas, Oregon, Michigan, Tennessee, Michigan and Oklahoma.

His visit to FSU on July 30 was his third of the calendar year. He previously visited FSU for Youth Day in March and took an unofficial visit in April.
