Umich Calendar Winter 2023 – Escher has more than 100 people. This makes it the largest building of the Cooperative Council. As a result, new members can use extra help navigating the culture and housing system. -T: The Creative Communications team and house manager Escher collaborated to create this orientation kit.

The Escher Information Center (pictured below) has physical copies of these materials. New members can find this office at the west entrance of the main office. Use Escher's floor map to find common/common areas. Use Escher's first floor map and second floor map to find your bedroom and living room. Application and registration MUST be completed annually. Students who wish to park on campus must purchase a valid permit. Licenses are distributed to all students on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates and deadlines can be found below and on your portal. We are moving to an FCFS base to make the transition more efficient in the fall to minimize machine and billing disruptions. When registering your vehicle for a parking permit, the following information is required: number, state, make, model, color and year.

Each student has the option of applying for a parking permit for the car park allocated to their residence (hall of residence, theme house, flat) or for the Kirkeby-Over sports car park. Unfortunately, there is not enough parking space for each student in the neighborhood where they live. With KO Stadium student parking, we can accommodate many, if not all, of the people who want to park their cars on campus on city streets. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee parking. Students who do not currently purchase a permit will not be permitted to remain on campus permanently. They have to find parking on city streets around where the signal works.

Student permits are not valid during the academic year (September to May). A permit is not required during the summer months (June, July and August). If you have a vehicle on campus during the summer, we ask that you register this vehicle on the application form at DCS. Zones such as fire lines, transfer zones and overnight parking apply year-round.

You will be notified by email of the status of your application. Availability is regularly reviewed and published. If you don't get the requested pass, there is a chance to get a KO Stadium pass!

After August 26, all parking permit applications must go through the Nelson Service Center, preferably Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The portal will close. Our office is located on the first floor of the Nelson Service Center. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Moller at 605.274.4326.

A parking permit may be renewed during the school year. A valid authorization must be returned for a refund to your student account. A waiting list will be established for students who wish to transfer during the academic year. Permits are sold throughout the school year at a prorated price based on availability.

The THEME HOUSE license is included in the housing contract. This does not mean that you automatically get a license. YOU MUST NOW APPLY FOR LICENSE ONLINE WHEN AVAILABLE. If after the online registration time, you must visit a Nelson Service Center to complete a vehicle registration form to apply for a license.

Parking permits have an adhesive backing on the left side and must be affixed to the rear window, upper left corner of the exterior of the vehicle.

Temporary permits can be used for short periods of time at the Office of Campus Security and the Nelson Service Center. For current year licensees and visiting speakers or teachers ONLY. Full vehicle information must be provided.

Lost or stolen credentials will be retained by Campus Safety. Vehicles displaying a driver's license that have been reported lost or stolen must be repossessed immediately at the vehicle owner's expense.

Faculty and staff must also register their vehicles for parking on campus. License is free for teachers/staff. Augustana University staff/faculty ID required. On January 24, 2014, the Board of Trustees and current Interim President Mary Sue Coleman held a special meeting to announce that then Brown University Chancellor Mark Schlissel would replace Coleman as the university's 14th president.

At the meeting, Shlissel said that he did not expect to lead from "top to bottom", but listens to the words of students and teachers.

"The best ideas come from people who teach and learn, so I had to listen first," says Schlissel.

Schlissel was Chancellor of Brown University for three years and Dean of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of California-Berkeley from 2008-2011. With an MD-PhD in physical chemistry, Schlissel was a prolific researcher and continued to publish articles during his time at Berkeley and Brown.

On October 26th, graduate students at Schlissel University wrote an open letter announcing Schlissel University's commitment to anti-employment and austerity as their protector.

"We are asking graduate students at the University of Michigan to join us in reminding Mark Schlissel of the key lessons of liberal thought: unadulterated and quiet academic freedom and civil discourse," the letter reads. "Not all great ideas are useful for public value. When it comes to racism, xenophobia, exploitation of labor, exploitation of national resources and general hatred of people who work in the classroom, teach and do research, it does not exist and has won. no, there was never an agreement."

A Look Back At Eight Years Of Umich Under Former U M President Mark Schlissel

Schlissel's appointment follows a more than $315,000 presidential search that lasted eight months and met initial expectations from students and faculty. Dentistry professor Rex Holland, vice chairman of the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs, said he was impressed by Schlissel's credentials and pleased to see her lead the university.

"I am very impressed with President-elect Schlissel's confidence," Holland said at the 2014 SACUA meeting.

Members of the 2014 Student Center Government were pleased with the student-centered approach Schlissel demonstrated in her speech.
