Uncw 2023-2024 Calendar – Sydney Burkett is from a small town outside of Greensboro, North Carolina, and is majoring in Communications, majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC). Sydney's first honor was a short study abroad in London, which led her to study consumerism, business and economics, leading her to become a professional business for school life. This position allowed him to explore the intersection of business on campus and student engagement, and apply these insights to other roles as a business owner for independent business agency Pier601 Creative. These experiences have shaped Sydney's high school education in many ways, and she is grateful for the sense of community and support the Honors College has provided along the way. Sydney is graduating (starting) in the spring of 2021 with plans to work in business and communication in universities, hoping to one day get a degree high level.

Jonathan "Jack" Castarella is involved in SGA and other campus organizations. He transferred to NCSU as part of the 2+2 engineering program.

Catherine (Cat) Dancausse grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended Providence High School. Cat likes to be involved in the college's ocean project and plastic ocean clubs. He also likes to work on various researches in his specialty and focus; public health in preclinical track. He is currently starting a study to assess the risk factors and prevalence of NCDs in Thailand. She also enjoys being involved in the Wilmington community as a waitress at the popular Tower 7 and participating in community yoga and surfing groups. He plans to graduate and apply to medical school, hoping to become a doctor.

Cayden is originally from North Carolina, but grew up in a small town called Sant Cugat outside of Barcelona, ​​​​​​​​​​​He graduated in International Studies and minored in Women and Gender Studies. During his tenure, he participated in the FYRE project, working with Dr. Julia Morris on immigration and the resignation of US border control in Guatemala. He also attended the Cooperative Baptist Company, where he researched the situation of freedom of religion and belief (FORB) in Syria, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In her free time, she volunteers at a local dog shelter and enjoys reading and exploring Wilmington. On campus, she participated in the English Language Center's Interactive Conversation Program, and hopes to be more involved in the Honors College. She hopes to pursue a master's and doctorate in international studies to one day teach and conduct research in schools.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Katherine (Katie) Stevenson loved her experience in the coastal city of Wilmington. She has a passion for science, exploring the outdoors, and making the most of her research in .She is pursuing a master's degree in marine biology with a concentration in conservation and hopes to will support conservation work in the Chesapeake Lake after graduation. During his tenure, he participated in the FYRE program, where he conducted research on Masonboro Island sediments, became a member of the school's NAMEPA chapter, and volunteered through OSLE. He is currently volunteering at the Coastal Plant Ecology Laboratory and will begin his graduate studies in the laboratory in the fall of 2021. He is working at a facility in Baltimore in the winter. summer 2020 and will practice and conduct research in the Biochemistry Center. . Aberdeen Army Base, Maryland, summer 2021. Katie is looking forward to her senior year at the Honors College and hopes to be in the Honors College! Wilmington Fellows are Honors College students who work with university administrators and employers to find major national graduate programs, scholarships and graduate programs, as well as successful and complete the work. They are guided by research, internships and leadership in schools, and build relationships with teachers and other professionals in their field of study. Membership as a Wilmington Fellow is a recognition of dedication to the pursuit of academic excellence and personal growth and development.

Fellows are members of the university. They develop leadership skills and participate in discussions, conferences, meetings and other events to prepare them for the rigors and opportunities of graduate school or the professional world. They engage in creative research and discovery, regardless of their chosen subject.

The Fellows are also an informal student organization: they create and host volunteer clubs and activities, hold their own meetings and manage themselves. In addition to creating learning and culture, friends create community. They talk to each other and train each other, creating a network of friends to call upon.

Most Fellows are also called upon to represent the Honors College in various capacities. Think of them as "representatives" of the Honors College. As a volunteer, they meet prospective students and leaders, give advice and reflect on their positive experiences, and/or act as role models for other students, etc.

At the end of the fall semester, the Honors College will contact all first-year students with the opportunity to apply for the Wilmington Fellows Program. The application deadline is January 10, 2021, but we encourage you to submit as soon as possible.
