University Of Houston Academic Calendar 2023 – The Houston Independent School District Board of Education has approved a proposed 2022-2023 academic calendar that adds an extra spring break in April and moves the last day of the first semester before the winter harvest.

The calendar includes one week of Thanksgiving break, two weeks of winter break, and one week of spring break. Students and staff are free on Labor Day, MLK Day, Chavez-Huerta and Memorial Day. HISD also has fall on November 5th and two spring breaks on April 7th and April 21st.

Fort Bend Isd 2022 23 Instructional Calendar Approved And Viewable

According to the press release, the approved calendar begins on August 10 with orientation and ends on May 25 before Memorial Day. It offers nine weeks of summer vacation for teachers and 10 weeks for students.

The calendar allows for staggered development five days before school starts and 4½ days for staff development during the school year.

Traditional holiday construction continues one week before Thanksgiving, two weeks before winter break, and one week before spring break. Spring Break colors most of the area's school districts.

Hisd Approves 2022 23 Academic Calendar

To meet Texas Education Agency requirements, 175 days of instruction are scheduled for students and 187 days are contracted for teachers, with a minimum of 75,600 minutes of activity.

If school is canceled due to inclement weather, 1,185 operating minutes are added to the calendar schedule, exceeding the TEA minimum requirement of 840 minutes. February 20 and April 10 are extra weather days.

Lone Star College-CyFair is opening its library to the public for field trips so they can learn about space and earn prizes.

The Pop in to Your Library Tours program returns to the LSC-CyFair libraries January 24-27, January 31-February 2. February 3 and 7-10. Librarian-led tours last 30 minutes or less, and no registration is required. Participants can meet at the entrance to the LSC-CyFair Technology Building and enter to win.

"The three-week introductory tours are offered to support library anxiety barriers for both students and the general public," university reference librarian Liz Nebeker said in a release. "Tours include library resources and services available for school and community projects. Come learn where to do what in the library and meet our librarians who are 'resource experts' here to help you.
