Csi Academic Calendar 2023 – Mr. James Robon-Viljoen grew up in the Elgin Valley on a farm that has been owned by his family for over a century.

He attended the Western Province Preparatory School (WPPS) in Cape Town and after matriculating at St Andrews College in 1980, returned to the Western Cape to complete a Diploma in Marketing Management at the Cape Town Technic.

James owns Drumarn Pty Ltd, an apple and pear farm based in Elgin, Western Cape, and is a shareholder in Elgin Vintners Winery. For James, the passion of the wine business is connecting personally with wine lovers and cultivating a global family of loyal followers. James applies the knowledge gained from his own business to council affairs and has put his strong networking skills to good use in fundraising at the College.

A senior at WPPS and St Andrews College, James was elected to the WPPS Board of Governors as an official representative of St Andrews College. The schools enjoy a strong historical connection and the relationship between the schools is very close.

James is passionate about ensuring the sustainability of WPPS and St Andrews College in these challenging times for independent education in South Africa. Thanks to his connections and commitment, he is well equipped to serve on both boards.

James was a former patron of St Andrew's College and his father and father-in-law were Old Andreans.

With over 20 years of experience at Unilever, ABSA Bank Group, IBM and Vodacom, Tando brings knowledge and human resources. Tando is currently Managing Executive: Group Talent, Organizational Effectiveness, Diversity and Inclusion for the Vodacom Group. During his professional career, Tando was a member of corporate boards and remuneration committees. His exposure to various industries and the ever-changing realm of human behavior has taught him to be nimble, resilient and adaptable in times of change.

Tando's eldest son is Head Boy of St Andrew's College Class of 2021, while his younger son is enjoying his time at Upper House.

As an old Andrian, I always want to "go back". Chairing the HR Committee and being part of the Council allows me to use my HR expertise to shape future organizational insights and thereby ensure that the College maintains academic excellence. Additionally, using my corporate insights, I help shape the leadership skills and abilities of the College's senior management team. As a parent, it also provides an opportunity to better appreciate the management and working model of the school.

St Andrew's College 2023 Scholarship Awards

He started his legal career as a public prosecutor in the District Courts and Regional Courts and later served as a Magistrate for many years. From 2002 to 2010 he served as President of the Regional Court of the Eastern Cape Division and was appointed a High Court Judge in 2010, a position he still holds.

Judge Beshe is a member and vice president of the Magistrates Commission. In addition, she is a founding member and former Deputy President of the South African Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges. He is also a member of the International Association of Refugee & Migration Judges and attended the Special Justice Services Expert Group meeting in Amman, Jordan in 2016.

Judge Beche recently returned from Belgium, where he was one of the judges participating in an international moot court competition at Ghent University.

As a judge, I took an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution and the human rights enshrined in it. Further, our Constitution guarantees all rights to lawful, reasonable and procedurally fair administrative action. I see my appointment to the council as an opportunity to be part of a great institution in a city that I have considered my second home for the past decade and I hope that as a council we will strive to maintain and care for the council. encourage worth it.

Mr Simon White's family is well known in the Eastern Cape and our school family. Simon's grandfather matriculated from St Andrews College in 1881 and there has been a succession of family members in the Upper House since then.

After matriculating from St Andrews College in 1991, Simon obtained a BCom Accounting degree from the University of Natal and an H Dip ACC qualification from Rhodes University. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Division I Transfer Set To Play For Csi This Upcoming Season

After completing his articles at Deloitte, Simon worked at Lloyds Insurance, UBS Warburg and Royal Bank of Scotland in London.

He joined South African Breweries in 2002 and spent the next six years in various financial management roles in manufacturing, sales, distribution and supply chain. In 2008 he was appointed Finance Director of Massbuild, a position he held for five years before moving into the role of Commercial Director.

Simon and his family moved to the White family farm outside Makhanda in 2015 and Simon became co-owner and managing director of Omne, a successful business providing accounting, tax and consulting services.

Simon has a wealth of experience from working with leading listed companies and brings finance, accounting, tax, management and leadership skills to the board. Her recent experience in owning and operating a small business enhances her skills.

I am a proud Old Andrian with children from St Andrews and DSG schools. Serving on the College Council is a privilege and an opportunity to give back to the school.

After a successful career in equity derivatives and share broking in London and Johannesburg, Malcolm settled in the Eastern Cape with his wife Lee-Anne and family at Lee-Anne's family farm in Nanaga.

Lee-Ann is a DSG Old Girl whose family has been linked to our family of schools for many generations.

Malcolm and Leigh-Anne own Nanaga Farm, which was once a humble farm stable and Malcolm's financial experience has been invaluable, developing it into the well-known and loved Nanaga Farm Stable.

Malcolm was involved in the development and management of the Inkunsi Bursary Scheme, which contributes to the funding of bursaries for the children of farmers in the Eastern Cape through the purchase and breeding of cattle on local farms.

I look forward to contributing positively to the development of the College, fostering relationships between the College and parents past and present and preserving the school's enviable Eastern Cape heritage.

Mr Stephen Moorcroft is qualified in Management Accounting and Finance, Industrial Relations, Community Mediation and Conflict Resolution Studies.

Stephen was a farmer at heart and enjoyed a successful career in several agricultural businesses. From 2002 to 2005, he was the general manager of Pheasantakral Agribusiness, which included the management of trout farms, fruits and cut flowers. He spent the next decade as managing director of Elgin Orchards, a fruit and wine farm employing hundreds of people.

During his time in the Western Cape, Stephen was a founding member of the Elgin Foundation, an NPO that raises funds for community upliftment projects.

In 2016, Stephen and his family moved to his family farm in Winterberg, where he tends livestock, crops and game.

Stephen has strong interpersonal skills and has many years of experience working with people from all walks of life. Raised on a farm in the Eastern Cape, he is trilingual (English, Afrikaans and Xhosa) and has a deep appreciation for different cultures and languages.

Stephen has previous experience in school management and understands the importance of good school management. He was President of the Applewoods Prep School Board for many years and is the current President of the Old Prep Association. At a recent Council meeting, Stephen's nomination as Chairman of the Council's Prep Committee was accepted and confirmed.

Stephen's extensive experience of running complex businesses enables him to contribute to the College Council's governance role and he strongly believes that schools should be managed according to the same business principles as successful companies.

I believe that as a participant in any community it is important to contribute your time, energy, experience and passion to its continued success. As an Old Preppy and Old Andrian, I feel it is my duty to give back to the family of schools that helped build my future. Moreover, I do not believe in basking in the glory of achievements or lamenting society's shortcomings. I believe that one becomes part of a community only when one actively participates.

Mr. Ziko Thomas completed his schooling in 1988 from St. Andrews College with one year post matriculation.

He holds a BSc from the University of Cape Town, an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand and an Advanced Management Program qualification from Harvard University.

As a marketing professional, Ziko has built a successful career in several reputed companies specializing in strategic marketing, brand management, trade and sales operations, innovation and new product development.
